Includes: Alphabetical list of the heads of families of half-breeds within the Parish of St. James, taken from the census of 1870, which was printed to accompany a public notice requiring all Métis settlers meeting particular requirements to report to St. James' School House in Winnipeg on 29 June 1875 to confirm their status as Métis, and therefore to qualify for a land grant.
